El Ejido



El Ejido, Almeria, is the European centre of agricultural production, producing most of the fruit and vegetables served daily on our tables thanks to the enormous extension of ‘invernadores’. If on one side these production landscapes create job opportunities for many foreign farmhands, on the other hand there should be great awareness on the sustainability of this system, such as plastic waste, drought, labour’s working and living condition, and seasonal farming.
